Aside from
Black Metal are there any bands or singers that you absolutely adore that you
may not want people to know about? Come on, you can tell me…
Again, this would take ages to fully flesh out so
we're going with a quick answer. Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash, folk music,
Wagner, Holst, old school punk, 80s Goth rock, and Alice Cooper.
Is there any current situation in Fashion, Art or Politics
that is influencing your music or performance?
There are many things going on today that influence
what we do musically. Our previous album, Relentless intrusions into
infrastructures of gods, was almost entirely politically motivated. It dealt
with everything from the constant wars to the abuse committed by the clergy
recently coming to light. But that album wasn't all doom and gloom, we wrote a
song about beer on that album and ‘The Fallen Gives Way to Hope’ was an
inspirational tale about taking back what is rightfully ours. As far as
art or fashion is concerned, we're pretty |

much out
of the loop completely. We know goofy looking when we see it, but
that's about it. But fashion |
and folk metal aren't
really something that have any strong bonds to one another anyhow. The
pretentious aspect of "I'm more X than you are" seems shallow no matter what
culture you belong to.
As
children, we often dream of being rock stars. Do you remember the age you were
when you decided this is what you wanted to be?
Well, I'm sure none of us consider ourselves to be
rock stars. We do this because we love the music we create and playing it for
other people. We also get to drink beer, socialize, philosophize, and enjoy
life; this is pretty much what it's all about. |
