I first met Jenny Gifford in 1979 in a barn on a farm while watching a woman try to teach us how to milk a cow. Jenny was eager to give it a try and I remember the disgusted look on her face when the milk squirted into the bucket. I should have known then that she would end up taking care of horses and rescuing animals for the better part of her life. |
| The second time I met up with her was in 1982 when we worked together on a couple of art projects for school. We were young then and not as skilled as we are now but we gave it our best. We picked red and black for the butterfly we had to make and I remember how serious Jenny was as she drew little hearts all over the body. Her meticulous efforts continue to be part of her artistic habits today. |
