Her
most recent works are Toilet Worship, a book doing just that, and a
bathroom installation,
Toilet Worship & Concealment
2011,
at 49 Martin Ave on the west side of Columbus, affectionately known as The
Bottoms. Her and several other artists joined to create the show Rooms to Let,
spending many hours installing works based
on the rooms they were in. Right away one can see a problem with Mary Jo’s bathroom, the bathtub has been enclosed! To the left of the entrance is a small peephole to view a distortion of the contents and to the left of that is a drain plug labeled “waste” also used for viewing. The most curious and eye-catching thing for me is the red roll of toilet paper. |
