I’ve seen a lot of women in the entertainment industry who mimic Bettie Page,  Dita von Teese, Kat Von D, Katy Perry, and however many Suicide Girls you can count.  But they are all missing the one thing that made Bettie so memorable, her innocent playful expression.  You can see it in her eyes; she’s having fun for herself.  I’ve done a lot of photo shoots and after each one I go through the photos and pick out the “good” ones.  I look at blur, light, color, crispness, artistic features, expression, eye contact, flaw, background, things that don’t belong... you get the picture.  The best photos to me are the ones that capture the moment when the model goes from, "Okay, I’m modeling for you.  I must look beautiful,"  to, "Fuck it!  I know you’re loving to look at me and I’m have fun now."
