When you look at the man in the above picture, what do you see?

When you look at the female in the above picture, what do you see?

If you ask most people these questions they will tell you they see a muscular man and a topless woman.  Most men will admire the man and lust after the woman.  Most women will lust after the man and think the woman is a slut for exposing herself.  Why is this woman, who is in the same state of undress as the man, a sexual object or shameless criminal?  Because her chest has well defined mammary glands that are made to nurse a child and a man’s is not?  Does this make it something to be covered when in public?

When a man walks down the street without a top on your average person does not give it a second thought, but if a woman walks down the street without a top on people stare and judge her.  It is a sad thing that modern day society cannot accept nudity as being a perfectly natural and good thing.  Some argue that the women will be raped.  This is no more than a poor excuse to justify their moral beliefs that it is a bad and dirty thing.
Should it be illegal for this man
to go topless?
If a man is going to rape a woman they are going to rape the woman regardless.  Being “human” aren’t we suppose to be able to tell right from wrong?    When a woman whom society judges as “slutty” is raped, whether topless or not, it is often justified by the “moral” people by saying “Look at how she was dressed, she was asking for it”, the law by saying “See we told you not to do it”, and the court by saying “It wasn’t all his fault.”  People like to think there is some inner beast that we, as men, cannot control.  Again, this is no more than the rapist’s insanity falling on the shoulders of the victim.

be looked down on?
 It's nothing the woman does.  They say that it is tempting the man.  I say that it is bullshit.  We, as "intelligent animals", should be smart enough to see past the nudity as being sexual.  It is, of course, society's fault for this!  It thrives on sex and buys it every day in the countless beauty magazines, commercials, billboards, etc.   If a woman is wearing clothing on every part of her body men see them as hard to get.  If a woman is wearing clothes that show a lot of skin men see them as wanting it.  We are led to believe that women are mysterious and erotic regardless of if they want to be or not.  It’s a no win situation.

In many states in the US it is a law that a woman's chest is a thing of sexuality and shall not be exposed if so, she is faced with indecent exposure charges.  New Orleans is a perfect example.  Women are thrown beads for showing their breasts and if observed by the law they are arrested.  They claim they want it to be a family atmosphere.  Funny, men walk around topless without it becoming an orgy.  A law was recently put into place here in Ohio that makes it illegal to videotape down a woman’s blouse or up her skirt. The sexual gratification that these people get strings from the challenge of seeing a part of the body that we are told is not suppose to be seen in every day life and is part of what makes this practice so exciting.  If women went around topless, forcing people to accept it, society would become desensitized and breasts would no longer be mysterious.
 

How about this 
man?
 Other countries allow woman to be topless whenever and wherever because they believe there is nothing wrong with it.  They accept the fact that women and men are built differently.  In the US if you take a picture of a physically fit topless man and put it in a magazine it is labeled a fitness magazine to be bought and be admired.  Remove the tops from women who are physically fit and suddenly it becomes entertainment for men.
During this years Olympics it was noted that in women’s water polo when women from America had bathing suit tops rip then fall off, exposing their breasts, they would quickly go to the side to cover themselves.  Women from Europe, in the same situation, would continue playing without a second thought.  It is also interesting to note that when the Greeks started the Olympics the men would play completely nude.

According to Christians, evil bull headed Eve forced poor defenseless mindless Adam to eat the apple which in turn brought about shame, lust, and self awareness.  This is yet another example of how it is all of the woman’s fault and why they should be repressed and shunned. Of course this is also why women were cursed with menstration, it’s a punishment because they are so evil.  Men on the other hand are still allowed to be the king of their domain with no consequences because they were innocent, naive and stupid.  Funny thing is the bible forgets the stupid part.

A female is born with no covering on her breasts and in some cultures dies the same way.  The men of these cultures see the breasts as what they were meant for, a way to feed a baby.  Nothing more; nothing less.  Because our culture perceives the breast as a tool for sexual response or arousal it becomes priority and the real purpose of the breast is forgotten.  Coincidentally this is why women are initially looked down on.  Men can only see women for what they think women can be used for and what they want them for.  They are threatened by the fact that women are able to think, feel, and work in the same ways and perhaps be better at it.
 

The common issue here seems to be that men are making the decisions.  Men have ruled over women for a long time and the men in power have set the up the way of thinking and how they think women should handle themselves.  Women have always followed these laws.  Times have improved with women's liberation, but there is still a long way to go.  Groups of women will have the courage to parade around topless, as it is perfectly legal here in Ohio, in various parades with other women and security for protection, but when it is all over they cover it up and obey the unwritten law.  Men are exempt from this law because it is assumed that they get no pleasure looking at other men's breasts yet feel sexually excited when looking at a topless woman.  When a woman gets excited by looking at topless men she is pegged as sexually promiscuous and it just boosts the mans ego!  Perhaps, to make it fair, we should make it illegal for anyone to be topless.
This man would be allowed to 
walk about legally.

While it is true that there are some countries where male domination is much worse than ours, we still have written and unwritten laws that people support, either consciously or sub-consciously.  From the time we can understand it is put into our minds what our roles in society will be.  Most “morals” are lies based on a religion or what our parents were taught to believe as children.  The real truth about morals is:  If what someone else does or is doing does not hurt anyone else directly or indirectly there is no wrong in it, regardless of what your parents, teachers, politicians, religious leaders or Gods say.  We must break free from the molds and scrutinize each thing we believe so strongly in and discover the real truth in why we believe it.  Next time you go to judge or condemn a person ask yourself –Is the “wrong” action really the truth or just a lie that they have taught me to be true?
