I stand in the shadows
and watch. The heat shimmers off the asphalt as the huddled masses
scurry about their lives, their strained faces cursing the urban
heat. The atmosphere is heavy and damp as she works the sidewalk
cafe tall, beautiful the sweat glistening on her pale skin as she
waits on the fools who secretly want her as their
own.............soon it will be the heat from
my kisses that she feels as
I lose my soul in her deep, brown eyes. Ah well, such is
