Being in drag often was used to be funny, or to poke fun at the opposite sex as well as over exaggerating what the opposite sex did.  A man dressed as a woman might often use too much makeup and a high pitched voice.  Where as a female playing the role of the man, might act like a real cocky person, pretending to be a real ladies man or being more macho than normal.

Needless to say the art form has been around for a long time.... and can be found in music, movies, good reads, and theatre performances as far back as the 1600’s, and even further back than that.

It’s a fascinating art form and is enjoyed and used by many all around the world.

The lovely, Dame Edna*
